Since September 2014, Thaïs Habotte and Elisabeth Dejaegher have been working as lawyers and are part of our firm. Next year, they will have been part of the Caluwaerts Uytterhoeven Lawyers team for ten years. Both are important members of our firm and essential for the correct and professional follow-up of many files. On 1 October 2023, they were therefore both officially appointed lead lawyers.
Today, Elisabeth is mainly active in private construction law. She also focuses on cases concerning the articles of association and ethics of architects. She can therefore always be contacted for private construction law files and disciplinary files with the Architects' Association.
Thaïs has been strengthening the field of company law for many years and has a particular interest in competition, market practices, consumers and intellectual property. She is keen to handle files involving commercial disputes in the widest sense.
Caluwaerts Uytterhoeven Lawyers through the eyes of the new lead lawyers? ‘A firm where you get to handle the files yourself from A to Z under the supervision of experienced and intelligent partners from whom you keep learning every day in a beautiful setting with a very pleasant working atmosphere’, says Thaïs.
Elisabeth agrees: ‘There is a very pleasant working atmosphere and collegiality. Moreover, Caluwaerts Uytterhoeven has given me every opportunity and confidence to develop professionally, for which I am sincerely grateful. There is investment in thorough training where delivering the necessary quality in every case is paramount.’
Both have also seen our firm grow over the years. ‘Without a doubt, the biggest change from nine years ago is the huge expansion of the team. Since we started, the team has more than doubled,’ says Thaïs.
‘The huge growth also necessitated the move to a larger office building, where we have much more facilities and space than the workplace where I started my career as a lawyer,’ Elisabeth adds. ‘I hope we can contribute to the firm's growth in the future by being a fine point of contact for young starters.’
We are very pleased that Elisabeth and Thaïs are continuing their collaboration with Caluwaerts Uytterhoeven Lawyers as lead lawyers. This step means the continuation of an exciting trajectory within the legal profession that will hopefully enrich them even more!
