Marijn Van Nooten
Mr. Marijn Van Nooten was a member of the Brussels Bar from 2006 to 2026 and has also been admitted to the Antwerp Bar since 2013.
As of 1 September 2026, he has joined Caluwaerts Uytterhoeven as a Partner, where he will further develop and strengthen the firm's Criminal Law Department.
Mr. Van Nooten graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Law at KU Leuven in June 2002. Following an additional postgraduate programme in Company Law in Brussels, he commenced his legal traineeship in September 2003 at the law firm Van Landuyt & Partners in Zellik under the supervision of Mr. Luc Deleu.
In 2007, he established his own law firm in Brussels before subsequently becoming a partner at Buisseret – Mary – Van Nooten Advocaten.
In 2013, he co-founded Smet – Van Nooten Advocaten in Brussels, with an additional office in Turnhout.
Since 1 September 2026, he has been practising exclusively as a Partner within Caluwaerts Uytterhoeven.
Mr. Marijn Van Nooten has specialised in all aspects of criminal law for more than twenty years, with a particular focus on financial and economic criminal law.
He also holds the Certificate of Advanced Training in Cassation Proceedings in Criminal Matters.
Mr. Van Nooten is renowned for his thorough case analysis and in-depth knowledge of legal files, combined with a strong legal background and, above all, his distinctive out-of-the-box approach. Quality and efficiency are the cornerstones of his professional practice.
