Sophie Goossens
Mr. Sophie Goossens has been a lawyer at the Antwerp Bar since September 2018. She joined the Caluwaerts Uytterhoeven team in November 2019.
Mr. Goossens mainly focuses on the practice areas ‘Real estate & project development’, ‘Construction’ and ‘Public procurement’, as well as ‘Medical liability law’
She graduated with distinction as Master of Laws at the University of Antwerp in June 2018. During her master studies, she immersed herself in civil and criminal law and developed a particular interest in liability law.
After her summer internship at an international law firm in the ‘Real Estate and Construction’ department, she also developed a special interest in real estate and construction law.
Sophie has been a member of the Antwerp Bar since 2018. She first gained experience in a firm specialising in health law. Here she built up extensive knowledge of medical liability law and the evaluation of human injury.
In November 2019, Sophie joined the team of Caluwaerts Uytterhoeven, where she also specialises in construction law and public procurement.
Sophie also built up experience in traffic law and insurance law. In 2020, she also obtained the certificate of the special training course Salduz for interrogation assistance.
Sophie has been co-editor of the ‘Journal of Construction Law and Real Estate’ (‘Tijdschrift voor Bouwrecht en Onroerend Goed’) since 2023 .
